Passionate and capable, Sarah Perkins brings education and experience to her role as Program Director for EmpowerCredit. Holding a degree in social work from Lipscomb University, Sarah started her career in crisis intervention with tenures at a domestic violence shelter and a 24-hour crisis counseling hotline. She has spent the last, several years dedicated to her family and significant volunteer leadership roles in benevolence, outreach, poverty intervention, and education. Sarah lives in Nashville with her husband and their three children, all of whom share her heart for service.
Kimberly Smith, Ed.D.

Dr. Kimberly Smith currently works with Transformation Nashville and Tennessee State University where she is the Director for the Center of Excellence for Learning Sciences and an adjunct assistant professor for the Colleges of Humans Sciences and Education. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of early childhood education and has worked as an Early Head Start program director, curriculum coordinator, consultant, trainer, literacy specialist, center manager, and classroom teacher. Dr. Smith earned her Bachelor’s degree from Chicago State University, Chicago IL; her Master’s from the Tennessee State University, Nashville TN; and her Doctorate from Lipscomb University, Nashville TN.
